The Selah 2026 retreat:
A Life of Faith -
a journey through the epistle of James

Pray together:
The liturgical prayers of the daily office will be offered three times a day; in the morning, mid-day and in the evening. The format of the prayers can be found in the Lutheran Service Book and are held in English. At these prayers, we recite texts from the book of Psalms together and sing hymns as well as listening to short sermons.

Study the Bible:
"A Life of Faith" is a Bible study journey through the Epistle of James, one of the most practical books of the New Testament. During the retreat, Rev. Jakob Appell, lecturer in Practical Theology at FFG, will guide participants through the letter - an epistle that Martin Luther famously struggled to reconcile with Romans and Galatians, yet one that speaks powerfully to lived Christian faith.

Rest:
There will be free time at the event where you can choose to retract from the group and get the kind of rest you need; whether it is to read, pray, relax or do something else. In addition, we want to facilitate the joy of the fellowship of the believers through semi-organized and unorganized conversations and activities.
